ISLAMABAD - Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage (IBNH) Senator Pervaiz Rashid said on Wednesday that due to autocratic attitude of Imran Khan, his party (PTI) was losing its wickets.

In a statement, he said that aeroplane and money has won and people having character and principles have lost as in PTI there is no scope for people with character and principles.

He also said that Imran Khan should realise that political party workers are not personal employees.

‘SC verdict historic’

Pervaiz Rashid said that the Supreme Court's verdict to uphold the Parliament's decision on establishment of military courts would be remembered forever in the Constitutional, democratic and political history of the country.

Talking to the media here outside the Parliament House, he said the verdict was satisfactory for patriotic people, who wanted to see Pakistan a peaceful and prosperous country. Anti-state elements would now be punished through (prompt) judicial process, he added.

He said only those cases of terrorists, who were involved in mass killings, and attacking sacred religious places and law-enforcement agencies personnel would go to the military courts. He said that the 2013 general elections were challenged and consequently the Judicial Commission was established, which authenticated the people's mandate.

He said that the new Parliament formed after 2013 election made an amendment in the Constitution for establishing military courts to (promptly) punish the anti-state elements.

The constitutional amendment, he added, was challenged in the apex court, which had now endorsed the Parliament's decision.

Replying to a question, he said that efforts continued across the world to improve the judicial system.

"Military courts have peculiar timeframe to meet extraordinary circumstances," he added.
