Lahore: The Central Core Committee of Pakistan Awami Tehreek in its first meeting held today decided to hold countrywide protest, demonstrations against the Model Town tragedy and demanded to send all the

corruption cases to the military courts.

The meeting also decided to celebrate the Independence of the country week, from August 7 to August 14.

The Central Core Committee meeting was chaired by Dr. Hassan Mohiyuddin Qadri. An eight-member committee was formed, to review and suggest changes in the Constitution of PAT.

The meeting strongly condemned the suicide attack in Saudi Arabia. The meeting, while announcing countrywide protest demonstrations demanded the government to make public the Model Town Judicial Commission report.

Dr. Hassan said that there is a strong relationship, between terrorists and economic terrorism and their financiers and all the plundered money, ends up in one way or the other in the laps of terrorists.

He said as such it is imperative that all the corruption cases that have come to light should be sent to the military courts. He said, unless those sponsoring terrorists are held accountable, peace cannot return to the country.

The meeting greeted the Chairman of PAT Dr. Tahirul Qadri on presenting the anti-terrorism curriculum. Brig Mushtaq Ahmed (retd), Bisharat Jaspal, Fayyaz Warraich, M. Noor Ullah, Qazi Faiz, Sajid Bhatti, Maj (retd) M Saeed and Makhdoom Nadeem Hashmi attended the meeting.

The Central Core Committee reviewed the progress, on the preparations for the upcoming Local Bodies elections and the repeated government efforts to get the elections postponed. The meeting requested the Supreme Court of Pakistan, to take notice of these illegal moves of the Punjab Government.

Dr. Hassan said that it is very clear that the killings in the Model Town incident were a form of state terrorism and PAT will not rest, until justice is provided to the heirs of those killed in the tragedy and the killers are sent to the gallows.

He said that the inordinate delay in giving justice, the party has decided to hold countrywide protest demonstrations. He said apart from fighting our cases in the courts we will also come out on the roads.
