ISLAMABAD - Hae Sung Kim of Korea annexed the women's singles title of the second leg of ITF Pakistan Women's Futures Tennis Tournament beating Sweta Solanki of India in straight sets 2-0 in the final here at PTF Tennis Complex Garden Avenue on Friday. In the first set, Kim acquired the winning lead 3-0 by breaking the second game of Solanki by playing a number of cross court shots. She won the first set 6-3 that lasted one hour. However, in the second set Kim got the lead 2-0 by breaking first game of Solanki. Solanki made the set score 3-2 by breaking 4th game of Kim by playing consistent game from the base line. Kim won the 6th game of the second game after three deuces and level the score 3-3. However, the winner broke the 7th game of her opponent Solanki at love-40 by hitting all shorts down the line. Kim won the second set at 6-3 by breaking 9th game of Solanki and won the title. Kim won the doubles title two days back at same venue. The final match took two hours. After the final match, an official of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) presented the tournament report. A total number of 30 players from Japan, Korea, China, India, Poland, Portugal and Pakistan participated for the singles and doubles events of the ITF Tennis Tournament. All the girls Sarah Mahboob, Meheq Khokhar, Ushna Suhail and Saba Aziz got Women's Tennis Association (WTA) ranking. A total US$10000 per tournament was distributed amongst the players. President Pakistan Olympic Arif Hasan (POA), Lt. Gen. Syed Arif Hasan, who is also chairman Pakistan Sports Trust (PST) graced the closing ceremony as a chief guest and distributed the prizes among the players. The title winner Kim received US$1568 along with beautiful glittering shield while runner up Solanki pocketed US$980. Chief guest congratulated the Kim on her brilliant performance in the final.
