This government has earned a name for committing one folly after the other. Some would even argue that this government has not done a single thing that was worthy of appreciation. I, however, think that this government has performed at least one great feat and that is making names of the NRO beneficiaries and loan-defaulters public. The anathema for the nation today are crimes of the politicians, generals, bureaucrats, businessmen, judges and law-makers. But one important partner of their crimes has always been either ignored or not mentioned deliberately. They are people of the pen, our journalists. All categories of journalists i.e. writers, columnists, playwrights, editors have contributed to the miseries of the nation. I do not blame everyone but certain names stand out very prominently in this regard. I , therefore, urge the Prime Minister to expose the names of all those journalists who have taken favours from rulers in the shape of loans, grants, scholarships and jobs for children. This will be a great favour to this nation. -AADIL JAHANGIR, Pattoki, December 5.
