KARACHI – Bandits robbed Rs1.3 million from a money transfer van in Boat Basin area within the remits of Boat Basin police station. Police said that two robbers were standing outside the local bank. They tried to intercept the van carrying money on which an exchange of fire took place but they escaped.  A security guard Feroze Arshad of a private security company was deployed with the van, sustained bullet injuries. He was shifted to the hospital where he died during treatment.
Meanwhile, an alleged bandit was killed during an exchange of fire between police and bandits near Jamali Goth in Sohrab Goth police precincts. Police said that five bandits were looting valuable to the passerby when a resident namely Abdul Salam informed the police. Police rushed to the spot after being informed on which an exchange of fire took place between the police and bandits. Resultantly, one bandit sustained bullet injuries and died on way to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital while his accomplices were managed to flee. The bandit’s body was shifted to the morgue after autopsy at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
