Primary schools to get solar system

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting on Friday which reviewed proposals with regard to off-grid solar solution in private sector.
Addressing the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif said that effective taken were being taken for overcoming energy crisis and a programme had been evolved to install solar panels in primary schools which would help in uninterrupted supply of electricity to the schools. He directed that the project of installation of solar panels in primary schools be given final shape as early as possible.
The chief minister also directed to evolve a business model for installation of solar panels in basic and rural health centers and issued instructions for evolving a pilot project for conversion of a tehsil headquarters hospital completely on solar energy.
The meeting also considered the proposal to provide solar home solution to low-income families on concessionary rate. He directed that comprehensive recommendations be evolved for providing solar home solution to low-income families. He also directed that a practicable project be presented for conversion of agri tubewells and water supply schemes on solar energy.
