BAHAWALPUR - Thirty one projects of construction, restoration and repairing of roads costing around Rs600 million have been approved.

These projects were approved in a meeting which was headed by Commissioner Bahawalpur Captain (R) Javed Akbar. In the meeting, road projects of Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalnagar’s Cholistan area were reviewed and finally the decision of their restoration was made.

The commissioner said that the Punjab chief minister had approved the funds for the development of the area considering its backwardness. He directed to ensure the utilisation of the funds correctly and the use of quality material in the projects.

He said that negligence would not be tolerated and no compromise would be made on the quality.

In the meeting, the matter of providing the missing facilities in Government College for Women Ahmadpur East and Government Degree College Baghdad Road was also discussed. He directed to complete the under construction projects of these educational institutions immediately.
