Lahore - The All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran central general secretary Naeem Mir has asked the Punjab Inspector General Police and Lahore District Coordination Officer to ensure protection of life and property of Punjab traders, besides making peaceful atmosphere certain in the province on Dec 8, 15 and 18 on protest days called by the PTI.

In a letter written to both the IGP and Lahore DCO, the APAT general secretary suggested to establish temporary peace committees consisting of traders’ representatives all over the province and depute additional police contingents at major markets.

With a view to ensure security, close circuit cameras should be installed while thousands of police workforce, deputed with VIPs, should be called back and they should be inducted in a Quick Response Force to cope with security situation, he said and added that local leadership of traders should be provided security separately.

The miscreants might be arrested immediately while banners creating hatred among business community should be removed immediately, he proposed in the letter.

Naeem Mir also called for a quick drive against encroachment to avoid any untoward incident. The district administration may arrange ambulances, while keeping the hospitals at high alerts on the day of PTI protest to cope with emergency.
