Four schoolchildren including two real brothers - students of class 7 and 5 - were killed and six others injured when a speeding bus rammed into a motorcycle-rickshaw near Nasir Nagar on Faisalabad-Multan Road on Friday.

As per details, schoolchildren were returning home on on a motorcycle-rickshaw when suddenly a Faisalabad-bound passenger bus on the way from Multan hit it. As a result four students including two brothers - Fakhar and Mazhar, resident of Chak 759/GB died on the spot while six others sustained injuries.

They were rushed to Pirmahal THQ hospital from where they were referred to DHQ Hospital where their condition is stated to be critical.

Following the incident, the members of the bereaved families flanked by scores of villagers blocked Multan-Faisalabad Road for three hours by placing the bodies. They staged a protest, demanding arrest the bus driver who had managed to escape from the scene.

Protesters ransacked the bus by pelting it with stones and broke its glasses. Later Pirmahal Assistant Commissioner Hafiz Muhammad Najeeb reached the spot and held talks with them. He assured the protesters that the bus driver would be arrested at the earliest at which they ended their protest.
