PR Islamabad - Recognising the importance of co-curricular activities in character building, developing resilience as well as determination, and promoting health and fitness in students, Beaconhouse System has always been actively involved in organising and conducting sports events.  Beaconhouse Northern Region recently hosted a two-day Inter-Regional Sports Carnival at Islamabad Sports Complex. A total of 266 athletes from Beaconhouse Northern, Central and Southern Regions participated enthusiastically in this event.

To ensure maximum participation of students, initially Intra -Regional competitions and matches were held. The winners of these competitions participated in the Inter-Regional Competitions.  Participating students from all the three regions took oath to respect and abide by the rules in the true spirit of sportsmanship. The chief guest of the event was Nassir Kasuri, Executive Director Beaconhouse North. Mr. Ian Darlington, Assistant Director Sports Beaconhouse School System was also present on the occasion.  The chief guest addressed the students to encourage and boost their morale. He emphasized upon the significance of such activities for holistic development of students and provision of comprehensive educational experience with a view to inculcate the qualities of the leadership, sharing, team spirit and tolerance in them. The event formally started with colorful and well synchronized displays and performances by students from several Beaconhouse branches.

 After a number of very closely contested sports activities the event ended with a closing ceremony during which winners were awarded shields and medals. During the two days Beaconhouse students showed great discipline, enthusiasm, zeal and passion while participating in different sports including Basketball, Table Tennis Badminton and athletics.
