HAFIZABAD-A desperate villager shot dead five members of his in-laws, injured his two minor daughters and committed suicide in village Shori Manika on Monday.

According to police source, Mansha had been arrested in a murder case and returned to his village about two months back. During his absence from his house, his wife Batool Bibi settled with her parents in Shori Manika village. Since then he was requesting his father-in-law Bashir Ahmad and mother-in-law Jannat Bibi to send back his wife and children to his house but to no avail.

In the Monday night, he stormed into the house of his in-laws and opened indiscriminate firing. As a result, his father-in-law, mother-in-law, wife, brother-in-law Nasrullah and sister-in-law Fozia died on-the-spot while his two daughters Sadia Kalsoom and Saima Kalsoom were seriously injured.

Later, he also committed suicide by shooting himself. He also died on-the-spot. The injured girls were shifted to the THQ Hospital Pindi Bhattian from where they were referred to Allied Hospital due to their precarious condition.

The police have shifted the bodies to the morgue for autopsy. On the report of Ghulam Zohra, daughter of deceased Bashir Ahmad, the police have registered a case.

Meanwhile, notorious proclaimed offender Ishtiaq alias Billi of Pipli village has been arrested dramatically.

He was wanted by the police in connection with an encounter with the police. The police also recovered one kilo Charas from his possession. The police have arrested Hassan from Madina Colony and seized two unlicensed rifles, one pistol and 12 bottles of illicit liquor.

25 wheel chairs donated

Wheel chairs were distributed for 25 disabled persons during a ceremony held here on Monday.

It was arranged by Al-Khidmat Foundation. Tariq Yaqoob, president of its Hafizabad Chapter, told the gathering that the foundation provides ambulance service in the city and education for the poor children.

The foundation has provided 4,000 wheel chairs for the disabled persons, he said and called upon the philanthropists to cooperate with the foundation to continue its efforts to serve the humanity.

MPA Ch Asadullah Arain said that service to mitigate the sufferings of have-nots and disable persons is a great worship. He called upon well-to-do people to come forward and perform their obligation to serve the ailing humanity.
