Hyderabad - Commissioner Qazi Shahid Pervez has asked the management of the Hesco to avoid power load-shedding on the night of Rabi-ul-Awwal 11 into Rabi-ul-Awwal 12 so that people could organise ceremonies in connection with the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The commissioner issued these remarks while presiding over a meeting at Shahbaz Hall on Monday. The meeting reviewed the arrangements for various functions and security arrangements for the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He said that Hesco management should ensure uninterrupted power supply to consumers from dusk till dawn till 13th of Rabi-ul-Awwal because most people would organise religious ceremonies at that time.

The commissioner also asked the managements of WASA, HMC and other departments to ensure cleanliness and uninterrupted water supply to people, collect waste on time and repair the roads.

Hyderabad Mayor Tayyab Hussain, who also attended the meeting, underlined the need for discipline on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and called upon religious organisations to prepare all programmes and processions according to the permission granted by the government.

Hyderabad DIG Khadim Hussain Rind briefed the meeting about the security arrangements and said the police force had been put on alert in order to ensure law and order and foil any untoward incident on the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him).

Deputy commissioners, district police officers and district heads of all concerned departments of Hyderabad Division attended the meeting and briefed the senior officials about the arrangements and contingency plans for their districts.
