Past in Perspective

“You’re not to be so blind with patriotism that you can’t face reality. Wrong is wrong, no matter who does it or says it.”

–Malcolm X

Malcolm X preached for the disenfranchised to launch a fight to seize their rights through the sole power of their independent might throughout his life. After his departure from the Nation of Islam, Malcolm further aggrandised his true followers into inquiring about what the truth is and how they should seek it from within themselves. It is the sign of undefeatable strength when people are able to question their state policy or traditional policies. In Pakistan, one may question the creation of this state, and what it initially stood for versus what it has become today. To question state and traditional policy should not be labelled as secessionism or blasphemy. It should simply be appreciated as a people’s ability to evaluate themselves and their roots.
