BY AMARA KHAN GORAYA

HIGH UP IN THE AIR THEY SOAR,

HOVERING A FEW FEET ABOVE THE FLOOR,

IF THEY WANT A REST THEY’LL SIT ON THE DOOR,

SO BEAUTIFUL,

YOU CAN ONLY GAPE,

WITHOUT THEM THERE’D BE A VERY PLAIN LANDSCAPE,

AND WHILE THEY FLUTTER,

I CAN ONLY STUTTER,

JUST ONE LOOK AT THEIR COLOURFUL WINGS,

AND YOU THINK,

BUTTERFLIES ARE SUCH WONDERFUL THINGS,

AND DON’T BE AFRAID, THEY DON’T STING,

BECAUSE JOY IS WHAT THEY BRING
