Arsal bowls Classic Club to victory

ISLAMABAD – Brilliant bowling by Arsal Shaikh helped Classic Club thrash Islamabad Gymkhana by 10 wickets in the Super-8 round of Islamabad Cricket Association (ICA) Cricket Championship 2016 Pool A match played here at Bhutto Cricket Ground on Monday. Put into bat first, Islamabad Gymkhana were bundled out for meager 148 in 37 overs. Kamran scored 62 off 70 balls while Awais hit 36. Arsal ripped through Gymkhana batting line by grabbing 4-28 while Hamza and Sohail took two wickets each. In reply, Classic Club reached home in 19.3 overs without losing a single wicket. Openers Sajawal Riaz and Rashid scored half centuries while Sajawal remained top scorer with 80 runs and Rashid contributed 53. Chatha clinches tenpin bowling title

ISLAMABAD - Seasoned campaigner and former national tenpin bowling champion M Hussain Chatha added another feather to his already decorated cap, as he won the 10th Islamabad Master Singles Tenpin Bowling Championship here at Leisure City Bowling Alley, Safa Gold Mall on late Sunday night. Around 100 bowlers from the twin cities participated in the 3-day mega event. In the semifinal, Chatha scored massive 669 pins with an average of 223 to finish first while Saleem Baig secured second with 605 pins with average 202 and Ijazur Rehman earned third with 573 pins and an average of 191. In the final, two rivals Chatha and Baig fought well but Chatta claimed the title by scoring massive 408 pins with an average of 204 and Baig finished second with 340 pins and an average of 170.–Staff Reporter

 

 

 

Magic River Polo Cup commences today

LAHORE - The Magic River Polo Cup 2016 will stroll into action today (Tuesday) here at the Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground. Eight teams have been participating in the tournament, which are further divided into two pools. Pool A consists of Diamond Paints, Master Paints, Blue Stat and Terra Energy while Pool B comprises Rijas, Olympia, Barki Estate and Subway. The first match of the tournament will be played between Diamond Paints and Master Paints today (Tuesday) at 2pm while Blue Star will take on Terra Energy in the second match of the day at 3pm. On Thursday, the competitions among the winning and losing teams of Pool A will be held while on Friday, the matches will be conducted among winning and losing teams of Pool B. PNA holds netball coaching course

LAHORE – The Punjab Netball Association (PNA) has organised Netball Development & Coaching Course here at the Lahore Grammar School, Gulberg in which technical experts defined netball new rules, skills, tactics and game planning through lecture, video clips and practical demonstrations. PNA secretary Ch Rizwan said: “The course was organised on the special instructions of the PNA president Syed Sheharyar Ali.
