Voices in the wilderness

Just as each nation has a different psychology; the same is with the Pakistani nation. Pakistani nation has changed a lot during the last two decades. People are right at their place if they consider Ziaul Haq responsible for this but the question is; how did this nation hand over the customs and values of their forefathers to the nefarious plans of a dictator? Didn’t they know how this nation was living with peace and harmony since 1947? These are the questions which nobody wants to discuss.
Habib Jalib wrote his masterpiece ‘Zulmat ko Zia’ during martial law in the late 70s, but like his previous voices this one was also vanquished after echoing in the air and the dengue of intolerance started spreading vigorously. The germs of this dengue virus effected the people on sectarian basis in such a way that people are still suffering from it. This intolerance has brought the Pakistani nation to such a level that we raised our voices for the people of Palestine, Burma, Egypt and Syria but the voices raised for our own people has been suppressed. Mosques, Mausoleum, Eid Meladul Nabi processions, Muharam processions, pilgrims, even homes are not safe. Even if the hands of other nations are involved in this terror, but consciously or unconsciously our own people are been used in this ongoing terrorism.
If you can’t impose the Shariah in a country, which got freedom on the name of Islam, then at least this nation should adopt those moral values upon which The Holy Prophet (PBUH) devoted his entire life. Even if somebody threw garbage, stones or abused him; He (PBUH) tolerated it. Then which path are we Muslims following today? Even Muslims are not tolerating other Muslims. If this nation won’t recover from this disease of intolerance then it won’t let Pakistan flourish. We should all work together now for the development of this country with love and peace and all evil elements should be ousted from among us.
