LAHORE - The Austrian Ambassador Dr Brigitta Blaha visited Shakir Ali Musuem on Monday.

The Ambassador toured different sections of the museum and its various wings and appreciated the collection of antiques and artifacts including books, documents, artworks and sculptures.

Director, Shakir Ali Musueum, Amna Patudi hoped that through this visit the ambassador would know better about influential modern Pakistani artist Shakir and his contribution to the world of art. She said that ambassador was impressed by the architecture of Shakir Ali Musuem. “She wants to introduce Austrian artists in this country. It is a step towards building friendship between Pakistan and Austria,” Patudi said.

Talking to this scribe, Brigitta Blaha said, “I heard a lot about this museum but never got the chance to visit it. This time we finally decided to have a look and it’s simply amazing. Shakir Ali not only felt all aspects of human nature but also showed them in his work through lines, colours and paint. We are trying to have an exchange programme and promote culture activities in Pakistan. Two years back we had a number of troupes from going to the festivals held in Austria,” She said.
