Officials visit relatives of man drowned in Libya


RAWALPINDI: The deputy commissioner and city police officer visited residence of a man who died in the boat sinking incident off the Libyan coast, informed sources on Monday.

PML-N MNA Raja Javed Ikhlas and other leaders of PML-N were also accompanying the DC Talat Mehmood Gondal and CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi on the occasion. According to the sources, the DC and CPO paid a visit to residence of Mirza Abdul Ghafoor, who died in boat capsizing incident, at Barki Jadid and met with family members and relatives of the deceased. They expressed their deep sorrow over death of Mirza in Libya and offered fateh for the departed soul.

Addressing the relatives, PML-N MNA Raja Javed Ikhlas said that the government was making efforts to bring back bodies of all Pakistanis died in the boat sinking incident off the Libyan coast. He said that the government wanted to make relatives of the boat incident victims to bury them with their own hands in their own homeland. PTI opens election office

in Rawalpindi


RAWALPINDI: As political parties have started preparations for upcoming general elections in NA-52 and PP-6, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf also opened its election office and a secretariat in Bank Colony, Potohar Town, said a spokesman on Monday.

The spokesman said that the office was inaugurated by PTI Southern Punjab leader Amir Mehmood Kiyani. The ceremony was also attended by PTI Potohar Town leaders Sajid Ali Qureshi and Chaudhry Nazir and other workers of the party. Speaking on the occasion, Amir Mehmood claimed that voters of NA-52 and PP-6 had already pledged to vote for PTI candidates in the upcoming elections. He said that the voters were standing by the PTI due to its public-friendly policies. “Traditional politics have been rooted out by the people of NA-52 and PP-6 and they will definitely vote for PTI candidates,” he said.

Sajid Ali Qureshi and Chaudhry Nazir, while addressing, also expressed their gratitude towards party leadership for opening a public secretariat at Bank Colony to mobilise the voters to win upcoming general elections.Staff reporter
