KARACHI - Stressing the need for raising strong voice for the Kashmir issue, Mayor Wasim Akhtar said that the government should made all Pakistani diplomatic missions and embassies to highlight the subject of Kashmir and inform the world about India’s atrocities on innocent Kashmiris.

He expressed these views while speaking in the Kashmir Solidarity Day programme held in the KMC Building on Monday.

The words of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammed Ali Jinnah citing the importance of Kashmir may be included in the policy. People in Karachi knew well the meaning of independence and we are with the Kashmiri brethren in their struggle for self determination. Hope that the Kashmir issue would solve one day and the people of Kashmir get their rights, he added.

Kashmir Solidarity Day programme has held on the 5th February in KMC Building at MA Jinnah Road which was addressed by the Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar and Provincial Minister for Tourism and Culture and Kashmiri leaders. A rally was also held afterwards to show solidarity with Kashmiri brethren.

Provincial Minister Sardar Ali Shah, central spokesman for all Parties Hurriet Conference Abdul Majeed Malik, Kashmiri leader Sardar Nazakat also addressed the programme.

Later, a rally was also held outside the KMC Building at M.A Jinnah Road to show the commitment and solidarity with the Kashmiri people.

Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar welcomed the Kashmiri leaders in KMC Head Office and said the struggle begins from Karachi always get success.

He also praised the Indian people for supporting the Kashmiris and raise their voice on the atrocities on the Kashmiri people.

Addressing the program provincial minister Sardar Ali Shah said we have always highlighted the Kashmir issue in our assemblies and we want that Indian should accept the self determination right of Kashmiri people and fulfill its promise made in the UNO.

All Parties Hurriet Conference spokesman Abdul Majeed Malik said Kashmiri people should be taken on board in the Kashmir Committee. He appreciated the spirit of the people in Karachi and said that the decision of Karachi is the decision of Kashmiris also.

He thanked all Pakistanis for supporting the Kashmiris in their struggle for self determination and independence.

Sardar Nazakat said people of Karachi gave lot of sacrifices in the struggle of Kashmiris and we want to say again that we will not surrender on this core issue.

He said we are happy that you are providing us support in our struggle in Jammu and Kashmir.
