OKARA - A large number of PPP Jiyalas went to Lahore through a huge convoy of buses to attend the party public meeting at Mochi gate.

PPP Tehsil President Rao Riazul Karim led the convoy. On the occasion, he said that the party mammoth public in Mochi Gate would jolt the Sharifs and aides. "Today's public meeting will be an eye-opener for the opponents as they will observe the power Jiyalas," he claimed.

He said the cause of Kashmir issue was brought to the forefront in world on strong footings by Shaheed ZAB and the Shaheed BB. "The PPP will never back out from its commitment on supporting the self-determination struggle of Kashmiri people," he reiterated. He declared the PPP is stepping ahead under vision of its Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and would emerge a single victorious party after 2018 general elections.

Trader shot dead

A young man was shot dead by unidentified highwaymen here the other night.

According to police sources, Naeem Ashraf, son of Muhammad Ashraf, a trader of toffee-sweets and resident of Ittefaq Colony No-2, was going city-ward on a motorcycle. His father and another person Faisal were also following on him their motorcycle. Near Burkat Agro-services, Naeem was intercepted by three unidentified armed men. The culprits attempted to snatch motorcycle from him but he resisted. Upon which one of the culprits shot him dead. The bandits took away his motorcycle and fled before the deceased's father could reach the site. The B-Division police registered a case.
