PUC to start protest from 20th

QILA DIDAR SINGH - The Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) would set up protest camps across the country against registration of Madrasas from February 20. This was stated by PUC president Maulana Tahir Ashrafi during an address at Jamia Naumania Kot Qazi here the other day.

The PUC president said that madrasas propagate peace in the country. He demanded the government publicise Raja Zafarul Haq report. He criticised Pir Hameeduddin Sialvi for weakening his stance on Khatme Nubuwwat after a meeting with Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He said that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani speaks against Pakistan to please India and United States.

"Those who are passing negative comments on judiciary intend to create unrest in the country," he said. He urged the government to release innocent people arrested for their name in Schedule 4. Maulana Ashrafi also distributed notifications of appointment to the office-bearers of Gujranwala and Sialkot.
