Islamabad-Kohsar police have nominated two police officials in the First Information Report of the death of a 20-year-old boy.

The officials were accused of being responsible for the death of a Christian boy named Clinton on Sunday after they tried to stop the bike he was riding on by grabbing the handle and causing the vehicle to slip on road. The man reportedly fell off the bike and died after hitting his head on a pavement, while the other two riders named Suneel and Raza Maseeh sustained injuries. The incident took place in Blue Area in the vicinity of Kohsar police station.

Following the incident, residents of the area and the Christian community protested the death of the boy and held the police officials Jan Afser and Noor Zaman responsible. The officials who were on official duty in the area were arrested after senior police officials arrived at the scene. The FIR was registered under Section 319/320 of the Pakistan Penal Code under charges of unintentional murder. Meanwhile, SSP (Operations) has also ordered an inquiry into the incident and appointed SP City Ahmed Iqbal as the inquiry committee head, according to the police officials. They said that the police was patrolling to check street crime and physically tried to stop the bike riders after they did not comply with the police instructions to stop at the picket.

Meanwhile, Islamabad police along with Pakistan Rangers conducted search operations in various areas of Shahzad Town police station and arrested four suspects besides recovery of arms and ammunition from them.

According to details, officials of Islamabad Police and Pak Rangers conducted the operation in various areas of Shahzad Town police station. Under supervision of SP (Rural) Hassam Bin Iqbal, SHO Shahzad Town joined this search operation while police commandos, lady commandos and staff of Bomb Disposal squad also participated in it. They screened 50 houses and interrogated more than 100 persons besides arresting 4 suspects and recovering arms and ammunition from their possession.
