 Three more matches played in Challenge Cup

LAHORE - IPC, XpertDigi and UB Sports Lucrative won the round matches of the Corporate Challenge Cup. At Ittefaq Cricket Ground, IPC defeated Jazz by 12 runs. IPC scored 166-7 with M Arslan hitting 27 while Mudassar Ali taking 2 wickets. In reply, Jazz could score 154 with Ejaz Baloch scoring 36 and Imran Abbas grabbing 3 wickets to emerge as player of the match. At Ittefaq Cricket Ground, XpertDigi defeated AMT by 6 wickets. AMT, batting first, posted 180-7 with Saad Najam and Ali Butt smashing 60 and 40 runs respectively. XpertDigi chased the target losing 4 wickets. Muslim Raza and Waqas Hassan hit 65 and 50 runs respectively and former was named man of the match. At Ittefaq Ground, UB Lucrative thumped Pakistan CAA by 9 wickets. CAA gathered 163-8 with Ihsan Ullah striking 38. UB Lucrative replied strongly and chased the target losing just one wicket. Usman Waheed hammered 81 to claim man of the match award. 

Australian Footy matches held to mark Kashmir Day


ISLAMABAD (APP): Australian Football League of Pakistan (AFLP), in collaboration with Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), organised Australian Footy matches in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day here at Jinnah Stadium. Three matches were played including men, women and U-15 boys. In men competition, Tigger Footy Club beat Rover Footy Club by 56-41 while in women’s event, Queen Club beat Tigger Club by 55-22. In U-15 boys event, Junoon Bombers beat Islamabad Falcon by 40-25. AFLP’s Sardar Tariq, Ch Pervez Iqbal Losar, Syed Zeeshan Naqvi, Mansoor Ahmad and Ch Zulfiqar Ali gave gave away the prizes.

Sam, Birtan clinch doubles title in ITF World J5 Jr Tennis

LAHORE - Sam Kydd Baumgartner of Switzerland and Birtan Duran of Turkey won the boys’ doubles final of the PTF President ITF World J5 Junior Tennis Championships 2021 here at PTF Complex on Friday.  They beat Dmitry Dolzhenkov of Russian and Artiom Dorofeev of France by 6-4, 6-2. Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi, Deputy Mayor Islamabad, visited PTF Complex along with Mansoor Ahmed Deputy DG Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) to witness the matches, and was extremely happy with the arrangements and organization of the events.  In the girls’ doubles final, Iman Khan/Alaia Rubio beat Mariia Masiianskaia/Margarita Okhendovskaya 4-6, 6-4 (11-9). In boys’ singles semifinals, Sam Kydd Baumgartner (SUI) beat Andrey Kozlov (RUS) 6-2, 6-2; Birtan Duran (TUR) beat Dmitry Dolzhenkov (RUS) 7-5, 6-3. In girls’ singles semifinals, Iman Khan (GBR) beat Maria Pukhina (RUS) 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 while Mariia Masiianskaia (RUS) beat Ines Faltinger (AUT) 6-7(2), 6-2, 6-2.
