Karachi (PPI) - Provincial Minister for Women Development Tauqir Fatima Bhutto Monday said Higher Education Commission would be recommended to include subject of women rights in course at college and university level. This she said while presiding over a departmental meeting at her office. She said billboards would be installed at airports, railway stations, colleges and bus-stops to highlight protection of women and women's rights. She noted that a letter would be dispatched to PPO Sindh to make bound DPOs of all districts to submit a monthly report with her department regarding atrocities inflicted on women in their concerned districts. He urged police officials to inform Women Center of her department timely about cases of violence on women and other crimes against them. "My department would provide legal aid to the affected women. PPO Sindh would also asked to increase number of women police stations, particularly establishment of such police stations in every district of the province," she stated. She hoped that these efforts would greatly help in raising awareness of women's rights. HEC holds workshop on Writing Research Proposals at IBA Karachi The faculty of Institute of Business Administration Karachi (IBA) is aspiring for research in their domains and most of them are enrolled in programs for higher studies. Keeping in view their requirements a 4 -day Workshop on "Writing Research Proposals" was organized by the Higher Education Commission for the faculty of Institute of Business Administration Karachi. The objective of the workshop was to give orientation about developing research proposals according to the modern trends and techniques in the filed of Social Sciences. Learning Innovation Division of the HEC coordination with Agha Khan University Karachi devised a comprehensive overview on research. Dr. Zeenat Ismail and Dr. Anwar Siddiqui were the focal persons whereas four other resource persons were also involved to facilitate different sessions on different themes of research in Social Sciences. They presented theoretical explanations on developing research ideas and design for research methodology of the proposals. All participants were assigned major tasks for developing outline for the related proposals and gave presentation of their research plans. At the closing ceremony, Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Ishrat Hussain, Director IBA Karachi appreciated the efforts of the HEC and all of the participants of the workshop. He was of the view that the workshop has given opportunity of learning to the faculty of IBA and the outcomes should be in the form of concrete research proposals in the field of Social Sciences. IBA is looking forward to have more innovative workshops by Learning Innovation Department of the HEC, he added.
