THE Punjab government spokesman Pervaiz Rashid has said that the provincial government has taken concrete steps aimed at putting curbs on Jamaatud Daawa and Federal Minister Sherry Rehman's statement in this connection is not based on facts. Talking to a private TV channel on Monday, Pervaiz said that the Federal Minister's statement reflected unawareness as the provincial govt had already taken number of steps restricting activities of Jamaatud Daawa. He said that the Punjab govt was provided a list of seven people and all of them are either under detention or under house arrest. The provincial govt has also sealed ten offices of the outfit, Pervaiz said, adding that the government had also taken charge of 29 dispensaries and welfare centres which had been run by the organisation.
