LAHORE –The Tehrik-e-Istaqlal central chief Rehmat Khan Wardag has said that immediate provisional setup of government should be established after the Senate elections.

Wardag rejected the present electoral system that deprived representation of the poor masses in the Parliament and called upon a system on the basis of proportional representation that he claimed was most appropriate for Pakistani society.

It is the only fair vote representation system that could be the most useful to establish a true democracy in the county. He demanded that the next general election to be held in October. He also said that the number of seats of the National Assembly, Senate and provincial assemblies should be doubled.

Tehrik-e-Istaqlal chief further said that the provisional setup of government should construct dams so that electricity shortage and water shortage be addressed and the depressed people could earn their living. The provisional government, he demanded, should also devise an accountability system that could convict those involved in the corruption cases.
