LAHORE-The AJK Prime Minister Ch Abdul Majeed on Thursday called upon India to stop adopting delaying tactics on Kashmir issue and accept the right to self-determination of the Kashmiris as recognised by the UN in its resolution.

In a brief interaction with media persons at Governor House, the AJK PM said that it was not possible for India now to maintain its oppressive rule in Kashmir using its brute state power.

He also appealed to world community to support Kashmiris’ struggle for the right to self-determination to provide them an opportunity to decide their future. He said Kashmiris could not be denied this right which had accepted internationally. He said that last three generations of Kashmiris were fighting for their right to self-determination, and had sacrificed 0.6 million lives to achieve their goal.

 Ch Majeed said that PPP government’s clear stance on Kashmir had helped a lot in highlighting the issue in its true perspective and which was fast heading towards the solution. He said former Prime Minister of Pakistan Z.A Bhutto struggled for rights of Kashmiris and also vowed to continue the fight for 1000 year till resolution of the dispute.   

The AJP PM further stated that at no point of time in the past PPP leadership made the Kashmiris realise that they were alone in their struggle. He hoped that time was not too far away when Kashmiris would be getting their right to decide about their future. 

Meanwhile, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Yaqub Khan and Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majid called on Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa at the Governor's House here Thursday.

The AJK president, the prime minister and some of their cabinet members were in Lahore in connection with the 84th birth anniversary of PPP founder Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. The political situation in the country came under discussion during the meeting. The PPP AJK leadership praised the Punjab governor for making the Governor's House accessible to workers and the common man. They also visited an exhibition of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's pictures by Agha Feroze, displayed at the Darbar Hall of the Governor's House.

Later, Governor Latif Khan Khosa, AJK President Sardar Yaqub Khan, PM Chaudhry Abdul Majid and other PPP leaders and workers cut a cake to mark birth anniversary of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Begum Mussarat Latif Khosa and other PPP women leaders were also present.
