Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police are being trained under a contingency plan evolved by the Ministry of Interior to control law and order situation and improve its performance, particularly identification of points for setting up check posts to keep an eye on suspicious looking persons. These check points are being rotated from one place to another keeping in view the prevailing situation. For a foolproof security, the ICT police have also set up 55 halting points from 12 am to 6 am, including 17 in City Zone, 21 in Saddar Zone and 17 in Industrial Area Zone, with deployment of 55 vehicles.

The patrolling system within the federal capital has been revamped. Fifteen Falcons along with six commando vehicles have been deployed, which perform surveillance duty in three shifts to combat crime. The police also frequently checks the previous convicts physically or through informers. The police have sought the public cooperation to inform them about the suspicious persons. Leaflets and pamphlets are also being distributed for educating the inhabitants of Capital.
