Nawaz lamented that tortured bodies were being recovered, murderers of Nawab Akbar Bugti have not been arrested and no action has yet been taken on the Kharotabad incident.

He said the government should pacify the people of Balochistan, adding that peace could not be established in the province until the longstanding issues pertaining to it remain unresolved.

He said the democratic government has kept the Charter of Democracy in cold storage. The prime minister has powers but he avoids frank talk over issues.

While addressing the office-bearers of PML-N Balochistan in the party’s general council meeting, he said, the system of “might is right” was executed in the country.

Nobody respects people’s mandate. Nawaz Sharif stressed, “If we work together, we can bring Balochistan in the mainstream again. The PML-N believes that Baloch people were patriotic citizens and Balochistan was part of Pakistan and atrocities were being committed in Balochistan,” he added.

He questioned government role in handling Balochistan’s issues since last three years, saying that he will fight the case of Balochistan at all forums and would resolve the issue in consultation with all defiant Baloch leaders.

Talking to media after meeting with the leaders of Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP), Nawaz Sharif said that the government did not take action against the people involved in the murder of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, Kharotabad tragedy and the missing persons.

He said that in the past Balochistan governments having majority were toppled and their mandate was crushed.
