SAHIWAL - Regional Police Officer Khaliq Dad Lak has stated that the police cannot control the crime without the active support of the people and the dream of a crime-free society can only be actualised with the public cooperation.

He claimed that the motto and objective the Sahiwal Police were to win over the heart and mind of the masses by eliminating the crime and creating a sense of security among them. The RPO made the remarks while addressing the commendatory certificates distribution ceremony among the police officers who performed diligently during Moharramul Harram at Sahiwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

On the occasion, DPO Rana M Ayyaz Saleem, SCCI President Rana Waseem Akhtar, Vice President Haji Sohail Anjum, former president Shaikh Azmat Saleem, CPLC Chairman Syed Alamdar Hussain Shah, Syed Ziaullah Shah Bukhari, M Hassan Masoomi, Shaikh Ijaz Raza, Haji Akram Shaikh and Mian Abdul Qayyum were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Ayyaz Saleem said that without having the confidence and active help of the masses, the police could not discharge their duties. It is necessary that masses should be at the back of the police to boost their morale and materialise the dream of peace and tranquillity in society. He also assured to improve the current patrolling system to curb the street crime. He claimed that the police was duty bound to protect the life and property of the citizens, adding that all-out efforts were being made to come up to the expectations of the masses.

In his address, SCCI President Rana Waseem Akhtar said that the police and public cooperation was inevitable for the eradication of the crime from society and assured that SCCI would appreciate every praiseworthy step on the part of police.
