PESHAWAR - A one-day science exhibition was held here at the College of Home Economics, University of Peshawar, wherein over 40 posters and 45 models were on display in order to show the creativity of students.

To go with this a science quiz competition was also held on the sidelines of the exhibition as well, in which BSc Part III eventually clinched first position by beating the runners up BSc Part IV.

The chief guest Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Prof Dr Azmat Hayat Khan, while addressing the award distribution ceremony, termed the exhibition a good step towards promoting the innovative capabilities of students.

He appreciated efforts of the principal Prof Dr Ghazal Nizam for organising such events on a regular basis. He said the depleting energy resources to meet the growing demands of the countrymen have made the job of our scientists more challenging in order to maximize efficient use of resources and its exploration.

At this juncture it has become very important for higher education institutions to train, impart and unearth the abilities of the young scientists to give capable human resource in times to come, he concluded. Principal Home Economics college said that this year the college has started four year BS programme and FA/ FSc classes and the college is committed to continue with the same standards in order to meet the changes in the higher education system of the world, she maintained.

Later on, a walk regarding environmental awareness was held by the college students for keeping the country clean and green.
