Ashley named Capitol, Universal boss

LONDON:-
Ashley Newton, the record label boss who helped mastermind the spice girls, Adele and Kings of Leon’s successes at Columbia, has been appointed group president of Capitol music group and Universal music group. The former Columbia Records president has also been named executive vice president of creative/special projects at Universal. Newton will manage the label’s day-to-day operations and work on film, television and music projects, according to Billboard.com. The music boss has also worked with D’Angelo, Daft Punk, Foo Fighters, Haim and Pharrell Williams.–COT
