ISLAMABAD – The Indian High Commission (IHC) delegation led by Joint Secretary Sports Onkar Kedia met with Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Director General Dr Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera here at Pakistan Sports Complex on Tuesday. He was accompanied by under secretary Ashok Kumar, first secretary Anurag Singh, and Indian Olympic Association (IOA) secretary Rajeev Mehta. The purpose of their visit was to exchange views on upcoming South Asian Games in Guwati, India. The delegation assured that Pakistani contingent would be provided blanket security and all the participating nations would feel comfortable and wouldn’t have any security threat. They promised special security for the Pakistani contingent and also assured the IHC in Islamabad would extend best possible help for visa process. “Indian government is taking best possible steps to conduct the Games in befitting environment, as neighbouring countries will be participating in the Games, and playing together will further enhance their cordial relations.” The SAG will be held in Guwati and Shilang, which will continue for 12 days. Around 4300 players and officials will participate in the event, in which a total 23 disciplines will be held. The delegation also visited different facilities of the PSB and were informed about PSB working procedure.
