Nawaz urges Sri Lankan business community to invest in Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif while addressing the business community and media at breakfast in Sri Lanka said that Khurram dastgir (trade and commerce minister) has a special target to reach, which is around $1 billion in up to onw year.

According to Waqt News, the PM urged the Pakistani business community to invest in Sri Lanka and vice versa. He said he was happy to see the signing of different MoUs between businessmen of both countries.

The PM further added that Pakistan has inherited many challenges and currently terrorism and energy crises are hardest to deal with. He hoped that Pakistan will overcome the energy crisis by 2017 as it has potential to generate energy through coal and other sources.

He further said that CPEC, worth $46 billion will make Pakistan an important strategic player in the region. The PM also mentioned significance of TAPI gas supply. Nawaz reassured Sri Lankan business community that he is overwhelmed by the fact that Pakistan has entered free trade agreement with one of its most trusted allies.
