Show responsibility, IGP to SPs

LAHORE - Punjab Police Inspector General Arif Nawaz Khan said on Friday that police officers and personnel should fulfill their duties with more responsibility and hard work to protect lives and properties of people.

He also directed the policemen to leave no stone unturned to help people get justice. The IG said police should solve problems being faced by people in line with parameters of community policing.

The police chief expressed these views while addressing a group of police officers who recently got promoted from the rank of DSP to SP, here at Central Police Office. DIG Headquarters BA Nasir and other officers were also present in the meeting.

He said that officers and officials should take advantage of the triple-one intelligence system of the Lahore police because it was essential to fulfill the modern policing requirements. He said that preferential steps should be taken for resolution of problems of the poor, destitute and deserving individuals and crackdown on criminals and anti-social elements should be expedited.

The IG congratulated the newly promoted officers and said that their responsibilities had increased after their promotion; therefore, all newly promoted officers should improve their performance.

The police chief said that every responsibility should be fulfilled with full determination. Moreover, he said, there should be no compromise on merit and requirements of justice and discipline should be fulfilled.

The IG said that annual confidential reports (ACRs) should be finalized at the earliest to speed up the promotion process and there should be no delay in promotions.

He said that officers of police force should be well-connected with their subordinates. Before giving any task to their subordinates, he said, they should give full confidence and detailed briefing to them.
