KARACHI (Online) National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has approved 61 paisa per unit hike in the tariff of Karachi Electricity Supply Company (KESC). The move is a result of fuel adjustment for the period April to June. The KESC had requested an increase of more than Rs 1 per unit but Nepra favoured additional per unit charges of 61 paisa only. During the hearing, Nepra member Maqbool Ahmed Khawaja giving a dissenting note suggested to change the mechanism for electricity tariff adjustment. However, the authority gave go ahead with a majority vote.
