LAHORE - Punjab Health Secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad paid surprise visits to the District Headquarters Hospital Rawalpindi and the Benazir Bhutto Hospital here on Monday. He directed the contractor engaged in the construction of operation theatre at the DHQ Hospital to give the final date for the completion of work within three days otherwise he would be blacklisted. He also directed that the bed capacity of emergency ward should be increased from 25 to 50 beds immediately. He also issued instructions for recruitment of technician for further extending dialysis facility in the hospital. Fawad also inquired from the patients about the availability of free medicines and other medical facilities in the hospital. The Health Secretary took strict notice of the supply of defective ventilators by Eastern Medical Company to the Benazir Bhutto Hospital and directed the company to replace the ventilators worth Rs 2 crore within seven days.
