LAHORE - The Vice Chancellor University of Health Sciences (UHS) Prof Malik Mubbashar has said that it is mandatory to pass the entrance test, to be held on July 20 to get admission in any public or private sector medical or dental college of the province. He was addressing an orientation seminar on medical entrance test here at Alhamra Arts Council on Monday. About 3,000 students and their parents attended the seminar. Prof Mubbashar said that minimum required percentage of marks to pass the entrance test had been increased from 40 per cent last year to 60 per cent this year. He added that UHS had issued roll numbers more than 32,000 eligible candidates and advised them to reach their respective centres at least one hour before the commencement of test. All centres will be sealed at 08:15 am and nobody would be allowed to enter the examination hall after that, he announced. UHS VC further said that each candidate would be given a sealed test pack containing bar coded question paper and response form (answer sheet) which would be opened at 09:00 am. Entrance test question paper contains 220 multiple choice question (MCQs), each question carrying 05 marks. Total time allowed for the test is two and a half hours. There will be four sections in the question paper ie Biology 70 MCQs, Chemistry 60 MCQs, Physics 60 MCQs and English 30 MCQs. The candidate will answer the test by filling the circles on the response form. Only one circle must be filled for one question. Filling more than one circle for single question would be considered as wrong answer, he explained. He also warned that there would be negative marking in the test. For each wrong answer one mark would be deducted from the total score. Prof. Mubbashar advised candidates not to bring any calculator, cell phone or notes with them inside the examination hall. Candidate are only allowed to bring blue ball point pens with them and not any markers or pencils, he added.
