Sadly, the country in which we live today is often marked by conflicts, crime, routine and organised crime, corruption, violence, sectarian killings, targeted killings, tribal killings, honor killings (Karo Kari), and war on terror, but it earnestly longs for peace and only peace which is above all a gift from God, peace for which we must pray without ceasing. Yet peace is also a duty to which all peoples must be committed, especially, our ruling elite, intelligentsia, intellectual, writers, social scientists, poets, and civil society as well as media. The responsible, genuine and authentic contribution of each and everyone is needed to make peace a reality in today’s peace-starved Pakistan and make this country worth living for all and sundry.
