Pakistan will get 8.6 million US dollar aid from Australia on food, however the Australian foreign minister said that his country will spend millions of dollars on urgent food aid to Pakistan, Zimbabwe and North Korea. Foreign Minister Stephen Smith said that Australia has already committed A$30 million (US$29 million) to the United Nations' World Food Program emergency appeal but will donate the additional funds at the behest of the group because of urgent humanitarian need. He said late on Thursday that Australia would give 9 million Australian dollars (US$8.6 million) to Pakistan. He also said that Zimbabwe will to get, 8 million Australian dollars (US$7.7 million) and North Korea will also to get 2 million Australian dollars (US$1.9 million).
