It has been noticed that the back streets of Ahmad Block in New Garden Town, Lahore are riddled with private speed breakers that are in fact road hurdles that are a serious threat to shock absorbers of vehicles due to their ill planned nature. LDA ought to take notice of such illegal speed breakers, which are not approved by LDA in respect of their location and design. It appears each house has erected a speed breaker in front of the house that poses a risk to vehicular traffic. In addition the shock to passengers when the cars negotiate over these speed breakers may as well damage the backbone of passengers especially the elderly. It is required that LDA may remove such illegally constructed speed breakers in the back roads of Ahmad Block in the New Garden Town area.-DR. M. YAQOOB BHATTI, Lahore, June 4.
