Terror war to secure Pak childrens future: Marri

KARACHI - Sindh Minister for Electric Power, Shazia Marri, has said that Pakistani nation was rendering great sacrifices in war against terror because it wants to secure future of its children, besides making world more peaceful, and for the success of such war, stability of democratic system and strengthening of all national institutions is necessary. This she said while addressing as chief guest to the opening ceremony of 3 days Photo-Exhibition & SH Hashmi Awards Ceremony organised by PAPP (Pakistan Association of Press Photographers) at Karachi Press Club late Saturday night. Shazia Marri said that at the moment Pakistan is being portrayed in world as a safe haven for terrorists but the world nations before blaming Pakistan, should have to remember sacrifices of our nation being rendered in war against terror. Marri criticised leader of opposition in National Assembly Choudhry Nisar Ahmed and said that leader of opposition has not seen difference between the present democratic government and previous dictatorial regime. She added that Chaudhry Nisar must remember that it was previous dictatorial regime which thrown out of country to his leader Mian Nawaz Sharif and in present democratic government not only his leader Mian Nawaz Sharif has freedom of political activities but Chaudhry Nisar being leader of opposition, is head of Public Accounts Committee. Marri lauded sacrifices and services of Press Photographers specially in the restoration of democracy in Pakistan and said that Press Photographers perform their duties in most critical situation by facing life risk but in return they are not being provided financial and social cover. She welcomed new Wage Board Award and demanded its implementation in true sense. She announced Rs50,000 as grant in aid for PAPP and suggested to publish a world-class Pictorial Book comprising valuable photographs, placed in exhibition by press photographers. In this regard Chairman Press Photographers Trust and noted personality of Advertising field Mr. Mehmood Hashmi appreciated such idea and accounted that printing expenditures of such pictorial will be born by him. Earlier Mehmood Hashmi, Secretary Karachi Arts Council Prof. Aijaz Farooqui, KUJs President Siraj Ahmed, General Secretary Hassan Abbas, Secretary Karachi Press Club Moosa Kaleem, President PAPP Shoaib Ahmed, Secretary Syed Hamid Hussain and others also spoke to the ceremony. Later on Ms. Shazia Marri inaugurated 3 days photo exhibition in which more than 500 heart touching photographs have been displayed for visitors.
