Two women were burnt to death and six others including two children scorched after a passenger van caught fire due to bursting of gas cylinder here in Taxila on Monday. According to police, a Rawalpindi bound passenger hiace coming from Peshawar caught fire near Margalla Bypass, Taxila after gas cylinder present in the van blasted due to unknown reasons. The police and rescue teams soon after the incident rushed to the scene and started rescue operation. The bodies and injured were shifted to District Hospital Taxila where according to hospital sources their condition was out of danger. The police feared that the gas cylinder exploded due to high pressure as the gas cylinder was filled to its capacity and hot weather increased the pressure which led to tragic mishap. A case has also been registered into the incident and investigations were in progress.
