Islamabad - The Capital Development Authority is committed to provide healthy recreational opportunities to the residents of the federal capital, said the CDA officials yesterday.

Margalla Festival Volley Ball Tournament being organised by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has kicked off. The tournament is being participated by the renowned teams from all over the country.  Member Environment CDA Sanaullah Amaan was the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony while Additional Deputy Commissioner General ICT Abdul Sattar Aisani, representatives of Islamabad Volleyball Federation, residents of the city, players and officials of participating teams were also present during the inaugural ceremony.

On this occasion, Member Environment Sanaullah Amaan said that CDA is committed to provide healthy recreational opportunities to the residents of the federal capital. He said that different sports tournaments including inter-club football tournament, inter-club hockey tournament, basketball tournament, lawn tennis tournament, table tennis and taekwondo competitions are being organised at different sports grounds of the federal capital. He said that Ramazan Floodlight Inter-Club Cricket Tournament has also been planned, which would be participated by the renowned cricket clubs of the twin cities.

He said that in addition to these tournaments, competitions of traditional games have also been included in the festival. He said that weeklong cultural show would also be organised to highlight the rich culture of the country in the federal capital. He further said that different music concerts, Sufi nights and other cultural programmes are the main features of Margalla Festival-2016.
