PESHAWAR: The unofficial moon sighting committee under the patronage of Mufti Shehab-u-dine Popalzai will meet today Monday at Masjid Qasim Ali Khan in Qissa Khwani Bazar.

Talking to the Nation Spokesman Masjid Qasim Ali Khan Abid Kamal said that they have decided not to convene meeting of local Ruet-e-Hillal committee of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan and will hold meeting on Monday evening.

He said that it was aimed to bring harmony in government and private committee and inform each other with in appropriate time.  He added that if any one brought testimonies on Sunday evening it will be thoroughly deliberated and will be sent to federal government and central Ruet Hillal committee to decide the case as per the sharria.

Earlier to this series of meetings were held between Mufti Shehabudine Popalzai and Ministry of Religious Affairs to chalk out plan for observing fasting on same day in all over the country. The federal ministry for religious affairs has also hinted that all testimonies and witnesses which are according to Sharria will be accepted.  According to metrological department, there are bright chances that moon will be sighted on Monday evening and its life span will be up to 30 to 35 hours till Monday evening.–Staff Reporter
