Two accidents claim 4 lives

HAFIZABAD/GUJRANWALA-Four persons including a woman and minor girl were killed and 14 others including four women got critical injuries in two road accidents occurred separately here on Sunday.
According to police, a passenger bus heading for Lahore when reached near Pindi Bhattian Interchange on Motorway, collided with a recklessly-driven truck. As a result, the bus driver identified as Pervaiz Ahmad, Mumtaz Bibi and another passenger whose identity could not be ascertained died on the spot. Fourteen other passengers including Asama Bibi, Rashida Bibi, Muqaddas Bibi, M Shafi, Zafar, Riaz and some children got injuries and were shifted to THQ Hospital Pindi Bhattian. However, due to critical condition, six of them were referred to Allied Hospital Faisalabad. The dead bodies have been shifted to the THQ Hospital Pindi Bhattian. According to the police, the mishap took place due to carelessness of the truck driver. In Gujranwala, an eight-year-old girl was crushed to death by a car here on Hafizabad Road on Sunday. The rescue sources informed that the girl identified as Rabia was crossing the road when a speeding car crushed her, killing her instantly.–Staff Reporters
