FAISALABAD: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said economy has been put on positive trajectory over the last three years.

Addressing a function in Faisalabad on Monday, he said several world financial institutions are also recognizing the positive strides made by the country on the economic front.

He said unprecedented investment have been made in the infrastructure, gas and power sectors as well as human resource development.

Referring to China Pakistan Economic Corridor project, he said this would further spur growth.

Later, talking to the media persons, the Minister said extraordinary steps have been announced in the next year fiscal budget for the agriculture sector.

He said not only the prices of fertilizers have been reduced but GST on pesticides has been abolished.

Ahsan Iqbal said energy and infrastructure development have been given emphasis in the annual development plan amounting to 800 billion rupees.
