LAHORE - Pakistan Muslim League (PML) Leader Ch Parvez Elahi has criticised Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif for spending millions on Saaf Paani Project which badly failed to deliver.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, he said “Shehbaz wasted huge funds on Saaf Pani (clean water) project but could not give a single drop of water to people of Punjab.”

The former Punjab chief minister said only solution to Indian water aggression was construction of Kalabagh Dam. He said that Pakistan was the only country whose water of trillion dollars’ worth went into the sea every year.

“We must store our water and contrast Kalabagh Dam. The dam will not only provide electricity at the rate of less than Rs 3 per unit but also water to deserts and barren areas of Thar and Cholistan.”

He said that Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar in the larger interest of the country and nation should give historical order in favour of the construction of Kalabagh Dam.

Ch Parvez said KBD will provide equal benefit of all provinces and save country from floods’ devastation.

He said corruption of PML-N government exposed with the end of its tenure. The NAB, he claimed, acquired evidences of the corruption of Shehbaz Sharif and much more was coming in near future.

He said farmers of the country would vote for his party in the upcoming polls.
