Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ch Ahsan Iqbal has said that the government would soon establish an international standard small industrial zone at Narowal for establishing the strong industrial base in the region so as to facilitate the traders.
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of a Rs7.2 million project of establishing the Community Park at Narowal.
He said that the PML-N government has chalked out a multi-phased plan for the industrialisation and economical development of Narowal by ensuring the provision of business incentives and ensuring maximum industrial opportunities to the traders and industrialists in Narowal region. MPA Khawaja Waseem Butt, PML-N Narowal district President Tariq Awan, local notables and traders were also present.
TAX RECOVERY: Special teams of Excise and Taxation Department have recovered Rs. 1 billion in taxes from the tax payers and defaulters during the ongoing campaign in Gujranwala Division and termed it a record.
Regional Director Excise and Taxation Gujranwala Division Ch. Ahmed Saeed told newsmen that E&T department has recovered Rs436 million as property tax, Rs510 million as motor vehicle tax, Rs31.03 million as professional tax, Rs7.7 million as excise fees, Rs4.4 million as hotel tax and Rs3.5 million have been recovered as recreational tax.
He revealed that Rs270 million had been recovered from Sialkot district, Rs400 million from Gujranwala district, Rs200 million from Gujrat district, Rs32 million from Hafizabad district, Rs62 million from Mandi Bahauddin district  and Rs29 million from Narowal district.
