ISLAMABAD: A funfair was arranged here at Islamabad Model College for Women, F-7/4, on Wednesday.
The chief guest of the occasion Samina Shamim, ex-principal IMCG F-7/4, inaugurated the carnival along with incumbent Principal Firdous Fatima and faculty members.
Almost 30 different stalls were arranged including edible items, jewellery, decoration pieces, clothes, handicrafts, song dedication, singing, gun shooting, bubble making and fun rides (mono-rail, giant wheel, dragon boat, swings, trampoline), and horse and camel rides.
A cleanliness campaign was also going side by side, where Iffat Khalid, associate professor of the college, was giving awareness about keeping the environment clean. In the variety show Urdu feature film was screened. Bibi Yasmeen, assistant director colleges, Federal Directorate of Education, also graced the occasion. Other important visitors included present and ex-principals of Islamabad/Rawalpindi colleges, members of other educational institutions, retired faculty members and many renowned personalities of Islamabad. All the activities of the funfair were also broadcast on the FM radio station of the college, which continuously informed and attracted the audience. Students and visitors enjoyed the funfair a lot. While expressing their views visitors said that such activities should be arranged from time to time as they give a sigh of relief in such a busy life.–Staff Reporter
